So I'm pretty sure the answer to this is going to be "No" but I'm hoping someone proves me wrong.
Question: Is there any rhyme or reason to how systems are named that might help with locating them?
Example: I'm searching for COL 285 SECTOR OH-B B1-2. Galaxy map can't find it. So I repeat the search, shortening it by one character at a time. When I get down to COL 285, the map takes me to the general vicinity, but of course there are hundreds of systems whose names start with COL 285.
This happens quite often (as I'm sure you've all seen), and I'm wondering whether the name might lend any clues as to its location relative to the COL 285 "group."
Thanks!
