Question: Asp discount still going? time left? does it stack with alioth existing discount?

You mean the discount at Tsu? It doesn't stack with the discount from Alioth because you have to buy the Asp at Tsu or Alioth for the discount, you can't be at two places at the same time buying an Asp with 40% discount if that's what you meant...

Was when I returned (had accident couldn't play) the goal was complete, and there wasn't any asp at the station you handed in exploration at, so I assumed it worked globally. thanks!
There is a permanent 20% discount on the ASP and maybe one other ship (might be the Orca I think) at one specific station in the Alioth system. Alioth is the Alliance capital and requires a permit although it is fairly easy to get.

I'm pretty sure it's only 15% discount for the Asp in Alioth (Irkutsk station). Same price as the Asp from the Tsu community goal.
I think that thread's wrong too. I'm too far out in the black to double-check now but the last time I was there (about 4 or 5 days ago) I'm sure the Asp asking price was around 5.3M Cr. (approx. 15% off the normal asking price of 6,135,658 Cr). I went over to Tsu to compare and the discounted price for the recent exploration community goal Asp was the same as the Irkutsk Asp.
The reward for the community goal was 20% off and I believe the price of an Asp without discount is 6,661,153 (that's 6,135,658 + the default modules).

Asp's normal price is 6.661.153 Cr. 20% discount makes it 5.328.922 Cr.
I bet you go to edshipyard and just look at the top hull only price (which is 6.135.658 Cr) instead of the purchase price at the bottom.

I just went back to Irkutsk in Alioth and replaced my Cobra with an Asp. It is indeed ~5.3M there.
Not sure if I did the right thing yet. It's better than my Cobra for weapons (upgraded to A4 power distributor right away, and seem to be able to fire class 2 Pulse lasers pretty much indefinitely) and has a nicer view, but it feels pretty slow and sluggish in comparison, and top thrusters are expensive!

I'm also here. I dumped about 600 reports into that community goal, and the Asp is supposed to be here, available for 20% off until Wednesday. And it's not here for me to buy!
I was working on it, following the guidance of another post in the forums here. After an hour or more of doing missions for the Alioth Independent group and not getting the permit, it dawned on me that my time may have been better spent just exploring more to cover the 20%. =/
It's certainly not a combat ship, that's for sure. Small fighters can give it a real run around. But for exploration and a bit of light trading, it's pretty hard to beat. It does pack a reasonable punch fire power wise and will mean you won't end up running from most interdictions, but its slow turn speed does mean it works better in a wing. First and foremost though, it's the go to ship for exploration.
