I have a theory on the Codex that I'm hoping someone can prove wrong/incorrect.
My theory is you cannot get a Confirmed entry on something, without it first being Reported by another commander.
Old Duck has a situation where he found a new type of biological entry that's not currently in the Codex, scanned it with a composition scanner and all that. Yet it's not showing up in their Codex.
I understand it would not show up to HIM as Reported, because as far as I know Reported is only from other commanders. But why would it not show up as Confirmed for him?
I.e. shouldn't he get an entry that has a count of 1 for Confirmed and 0 for Reported?
Again, my worry is you won't see an entry show up at all until another commander "Reports" it first.
So if you find something brand spanking new, that no one else has found before, say...Space Lord Cthulhu in all his glory, it won't even show up in your own Codex, which is kind of a let down. I'm assuming right now, others will have it show up in their Codeces with Old Duck as the Reported By, but he won't actually see it himself in his Codex until they Confirm it on their end, which would be "Reporting" it on his end. Then it will automatically get Confirmed status for him once it shows up.
Am I missing something? I hope I'm wrong.
