Engineers Question concerning engineering

When you are at the engineering screen there is a box in the lower right corner of the screen that says "Remove". In the box are there are sometimes negative attributes for the item you are crafting. How do you get rid of those? Do you have to start over with a fresh mod to engineering or what? Sorry of this is a dumb question.

That box shows the current effects on the module you are engineering, which will be removed and overwritten with the new roll you have just made, should you choose to apply.
