QUESTION: Does turning off the "Report Crimes Against Me" stop SA from showing up in your combat area?

I'm not finding the SA to be especially helpful when I am engaged in a fight against a pirate or bounty hunter etc. If anything, I will often run the risk of getting fined for my illegal cargo, or worse might reactivate a dormant bounty.

So, I was wondering if turning off that "Report Crimes Against Me" will prevent the SA from showing up when you are engaged in a fight against a bad guy? I've never played around with that switch before and have always left it turned ON.

Previously that was certainly the case. No 'report crimes against me', no SA. Also, no attacking ship becoming wanted if it was not already wanted...

I always turned it off if I were smuggling or doing something with illicit cargo / salvage.

As far as I know it's not changed.

I need to go to a couple of systems where I have dormant bounties and wanted to check about this before I head there. Last thing I want is to reactivate those bounties!

Switching that OFF NOW!
