I'm aware of the "cold orbit" tactic the AX community recommends to beginners for engaging Thargoid interceptors. I've even watched many, many videos on it (though still never done it myself).
I'm also aware that ages ago people would use either a DBX or DBS in silent running mode to obtain Thargoid samples. Apparently, running cold was the only way to pull this off.
Is silent running+popping heat sinks a viable stealth tactic to visit the ruined megaships in HIP 22460 and the Kingfisher in <insert system name here>. I'd like to add the logs to my archive collection, but Thargoids dropping in on me, being instantly hostile has currently made that impossible for me.
Is stealth a valid tactic? Or will they still home in on you while running silent?
