Question for CH Pro Throttle users, slight problem (picture included)

Hi all.
Finally been able to get some time off work to play ED over xmas, however i cannot get my throttle to work by using the full range of movement. I can only select 2 speeds with it either 0% or 100% i cannot use it as a throttle should be used ie: increased or decreased increments depending on ingame throttle settings.

Is it to do with this here in the Control manager, whenever i change this value to more or less than 2 it always goes back to 2. How do i get this value to change to say 10 for example and stay at 10 as i can then have 10 increments of throttle speed?
Anybody know how to fix as i cannot play until this is resolved.
Thankyou.

Tick the box next to "DX Mode". The way you've got it configured means it's not acting as an analogue axis. You'll probably have to calibrate it as well: I couldn't set my speed to zero until I did.

The trouble is when i do that it works in game but like i said i only have 2 speeds on the throttle, 100% and 0%, the throttle is supposed to work in increments. This is why i thought of changing the value to around 10 which means 10 increments of speed. Still not working.

Did you add controller or use control wizzard for the controller? I noticed 2 ways of adding a controller which is stupid.

er, silly question, how do you have it bound in elite? screenshot would be useful.

The CH PRO lacks indentations on main throttle, so you cant feel it when you hit the center spot. For this reason i use the FORWARD ONLY setting in game , combined with a toggle switch for reverse flight. It works wonders for me - May need a little getting used to though.

I understand what your saying regarding identations but that is not my problem. Like ive said my problem is if i move the throttle 10% i should get 10% in speed as long as i set a increment of 10% ingame. If i move 20% 30% etc etc.
Thing is my throttle is only registering a movement once i get to the middle of the stick and it then shoots to 100% speed. If i decrease throttle it will then go to 0%, there is no inbetween. That is my problem.
Its a useless piece of plastic as its not really a throttle at the moment. Its acting like hitting a key or button for 100% speed and then again to go back to 0%. Useless tbh.

why are you setting increments in game?

Make sure it's in DX mode. Then go to the test calibrate bit and make sure you get it calibrated. Then make sure you clock the download button and you probably also want to save it for next time.

I have CH throttle and stick and it does all work fine, so don't worry. If you keep having problems try downloading someone's map and bind files.

Oh and make sure in the game you've got the throttle acid set and not the throttle increments set in the control options

In the ED options keybinding screen there are a few different spots you can set throttle keybinds. Most of the spots are for keyboard users. I believe one of the first spots is where you can set the analog axis to control your ships throttle, just like you set pitch, roll and yaw with your other joystick. If you click on they keybind and then move the throttle, it should register it (I can't remember what it says once you move the throttle, I think something to do with the 'z' axis). The other buttons leave alone, unless you want to set a key for 75% throttle position to drop your SC speed when your ETA gets to 7 seconds.

Also I find I need to set a bit of a dead zone on the analog thumb-stick, and from what I've read this is pretty common for the CH Pro.

Personally, the only things I use the CH software for is to calibrate the throttle now and then, and to assign power distribution (pip) macros. I have four pip distributions I swap between, and use the POV hat to move between them with the flick of a thumb.

Ill say this again for the 3rd time. Im only getting 2 settings of speed. 0 and 100% and nothing inbetween. Throttle is not working as a throttle.

Tried all of that and im still not getting full range of speed when increasing throttle. Can you upload your settings please so i can try them out

Done that still the same.

Are you trying to set them in the ED Options, or in the CH software? I'm not at home now so I can't look up my settings.

When you move your throttle do you get 10% speed and so on? All i get is 100% as soon as i go past central point on the throttle.
Yes CH shows its working in the manager but the game is not picking up the increments of movement.

Information needed:
How is the throttle controls set up in the game? (a screenshot of the control options page could be useful here)
can windows detect the throttle as a controller axis? (am guessing this is what DX mode will do, and so this would need to be ON)

from the initial description of your problem, I think the issue is that you have bound the Increase/Decrease throttle commands to the throttle movement. If this is the case, the way to fix it is to delete the bindings for throttle up/down, and then assign the throttle axis.
should look something like the pic in the spoiler, the invert axis is optional (I need it on for my personal setup)

Hope this helps :)

Have you set the axis here?

no, we get true analogue granularity, i.e we can increment our speed by as little as 1 kph with the tiniest of throttle movement.
