Question for folks that have played on XBox and PC

Is it normal to earn so much money from transport missions? Played for about three hours last night and in that time I managed to kit out my Sidey pretty well, then bought a Hauler and upgraded the FSD, then bought a Cobra and made a load of upgrades on that as well, and I still have 600K left.

I played when the game was in beta on the PC and I don't remember seeing that many transport missions, let alone so many missions paying 100-150K each.

Is it anything to do with the systems having a boom status?

Thanks.

I recently started playing again, from scratch. First day I ended with an upgraded Eagle and 910000 credits. Yeah, I think booming economies help :)

If the system is in boom state and you are ally with the factions, then yes the payouts are good.... So always use systems in boom to your advantage... When it ends then travel to a new system with boom, and grind up to ally again... Repeat repeat repeat. Im on xbox:)

Wait until you start doing passenger missions when a system is in boom you can get 3 to 4 million credits for a single hop to the next system as long as you have good rep with the local fractions also once you have a ship with a better jump range and size the sightseeing missions can be really good I have just completed one for 12 million to visit 4 systems which took me about 30 minutes and 18 jumps

The credit earning at the start has increased steadily with each update, so now it's fairly easy to earn credits. Remember that you have just started out on a long journey, and whilst the small ships are cheep the big ones start to get expensive so you will need those credits.

Xboxer here- been playing since GPP. As stated before, credits have been increasingly easier to come by since Elite's initial release. It took me about 3 days to A rate my Sidey in the beginning, then I jumped to a Cobra- worked on that for about a week- fitted for bounty hunting and light cargo missions. Made a few million until I could fit the type-6 for larger transport missions. Progressed to a vulture for easy mode bounty hunting. Then I picked up the AspX and the rest is history. So yes, it's a bit easier to progress, but learning the best avenues for credit flow are what takes the most time.

You will find later on that 100Kcr is not enough :) with the bigger ships and some kit costing 100s of millyons, and you are running around in a ship worth in excess of 1Bill Crs

Welcome to the family (PS Empire is D' best)

It the early days the missions you were able to accept were limited by your rank. They opened that up a while ago so that any rank could do any mission :)

The delivery missions today at 85k plus were rank locked so you only had access to lower ranked missions worth about 4 - 12 k for short hops with 32 k missions reserved for the longer missions

I'm glad they changed it! :)
