Question for people using Oculus Rift CV1, Elite Dangerous and HCS Voicepack.

Have any of you managed to be able to communicate within the game?

I was doing a bit of hunting in the rings around a planet for bounties when I saw a message on the Comms panel asking if I would like to join in a Wing. I would have loved to answer but it would mean removing the Rift, finding my glasses, typing the message, putting the Rift back on and going through that every time I wanted to communicate.

It looks like there is a speech to text thing but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.

Can anybody help?

Would like to hear answers to this. I've struggled with the HCS Voicepacks myself in general.

OP - I'm a touch typist so I ended up getting a 'tenkeyless' keyboard (a keyboard without the numeric keypad) so it would fit comfortably between my joysticks. But hopefully your post gets some responses on speech-to-text.

You could just open a voice channel with them in the comms menu. If you have a working mic, why not use it to communicate with?
