Question for the BGS experts

Suppose you are supporting a local faction. There are no other factions, so it has a 100% influence. The closest populated system is +-45LY away. Its in a boom state, and I am allied with them. What possible positive things can I do for them?

I think that's out of range even of a investment. So there's not much you can do at all.
You could submit a CG to expand somewhere, or build a base in a system closer to others.

Investments can do, or used to be able to do multiple rounds.

Time is your only friend in this matter. The faction is probably in cooldown from investment or expansion. If its just too far away, then it is possible your faction is just not expanding anywhere.

Check nearby systems though. Maybe there are surface installations that are not being noticed by Galaxy map.

Alright, thanks guys!

Except CG submissions are closed at the moment while FD get through the backlog :)

Pretty sure FD is not gonna consider a CG for this specific faction anyway. Wouldnt surprise me if this gets drawn into the storyline. Guess my role will be limit in changing the setting before then. :p

° Factions that fail to expand from a starsystem after an Investment state has boosted their expansion range will no longer try to expand from that starsystem in the future

2.4 patch notes. I read that as meaning you get one chance to run through failed expansion > investment. If you're still not in range of anything, that's it. Perhaps there's other interpretations. This isn't something factions I deal with have to...well deal with.

Thanks! Anyone know what the range is after one investment round? Or is that dependent on some variable?

Btw, is this possible?

I have seen some letter and number salad systems with solely surface installations with accompaying solely non-native factions. It is possible. Or it was possible, but I don't know if it is anymore.

Ok that's a different matter. Most or all of the surface-asset-only systems added in 2.0 were populated exclusively with non-native, immediately-neighbouring factions. That's not evidence of expansion by itself.

Afaik it's *possible* to expand to anything inhabited, without caveat though.
Having a permit or having retreated from there previously are now modifiers on chances/priority, but it's still possible.
