Question for Vive owners

Aye.

You can stand at the window of your Orca with your hands behind your back looking at a planet like Captain Picard does. :)

Though lots of ship cockpits are likely gonna be bigger than your lounge so..

I mean even a Hauler cockpit is pretty huge.

Just got my rift... ill let you know. Not played elite since i sold my DK2 last year, im a premium beta backer aswell so 14mths along time .

Got the Vive

Love walking around bridges and cockpits.

My main ship, an Anaconda, has a bridge that his huge and extends far beyond my lounge room :D Sometimes it's fun to be crusing, get up and just enjoy the view from another window :)

I have bought ships specifically so I could do this btw :D

In my VR space, I laid down some tape so I can put a chair where the second seat is in my Cobra Mk 3. It's kind of fun to sit there and look out into space once in a while.

It's even more fun to poke your head thru the walls and see what parts of your ship are actually rendered right now. :)

That is so awesome. My buddy just got a Vive and we tried ED on it this morning. I've never used VR before so it was mind-blowing for me. I didn't try getting up and moving around though because he only has a Sidey :D :D After 15 minutes of getting used to it and setting up his controls, I got him some credits to get started and a quick crash course.

Anyways, I've decided some of my motorcycle money is going towards getting a VR ready PC and a Vive. Quick question though, some of the UI text was really blurry and we couldn't figure out how to clear it up. Is this normal or his setup? I think we were on the VR low preset. Should I aim for a better rig or is it that his isn't really optimized yet? He has an I5/GTX 970.

His rig looks fine (I'm running a 780GTX and rush about on planets no problems!)

There are quite a few threads on clearing up the Vive graphics. Check the stickies at the top and have a read through any of the Vive-only threads.

I have an i7 6700 overclocked to 4.8GHz and a GTX 980ti Strix. I have judder issues.

So your mileage may vary.

I have the same card and no judder issues. Well, only if in I'm hangar and the menu is open. For some weird reason this stationary position seems to be the most intense thing for the game engine... probably due to the steam and fog in the hangar.

Anyway, your setup should be able to run the game just fine without any major judder.

I'm not talking about menu lag, although that's horrendous enough.

It's mainly in RES sites
