Question guys DO ALL NEW players start same area..and where

I have an old friend from the original ELITE about to play he asked me if every one starts from LAVE, Im sure I hear people on the TS talking about it, any one confirm for me
where newbies start from. thanks

No, there are various starting points but I believe these may be related to your position as a backer (if relevant).

Personally I did not start from Lave, but I was a backer (just a normal one) - had sidey and 1kcr.

There are a few starting systems, the most famous being the 'notorious' LH3447 (if you spawn there, MOVE out quickly)

Thanks guys I was a backer my restart was CHEMAKU ?? so are people bashing newbies a few of us that can fly as a team will accompany him out maybe thanks again guys

lol, eaxctly what I did. Game was launched at 1300 on 16 Dec, I started about the same time and was about 100 Ly away an hour later.

I'm fortunate that I had several choices of start location, so I chose to start really far away from everyone else - with an exploration ship at the edge of known civilization

I just began the game a few days ago and started at TREVITHICK DOCKS. Was a bit irritated they don't have a commodity market, but as I traveled well away from there it was a small thing. I did run out of fuel and re-spawned back there.

Also started in LHS 3447. I trade there still, grab a coffee/read the forum while drifting to Dalton Gateway.

My Starter Sidewinder and FreEagle live in LHS 3447, but I am many, many miles from them.

Started in LHS 3447 with a sidey.
Moved to Eravate once I got a hauler and did runs from Eravate to Potrini.

When the time came to upgrade to a Cobra, I ended up in Zaragas.

I took advantage of the LHS 3447 10% sale at the weekend and bought a Sidey and flew it down to Dalton and then bought an Asp, sold the Sidey and flew home again.

Oh no, I didn't mean that. The stations are 100KLs distance from each other, it's a 5-6 minutes flight in an upgraded ship but with the basic sidewinder and little knowledge of how SC works it could be very boring for him
