Question: How to become ELITE

Easy aswer You would think... just kill an ammount of high rated ships and..... arghhh there has changed something

High rated ships, especially Pirates (the natural prey of bounty hunters) is down to maximun Novice.

So do some merc jobs.....

Combat zones are down to maximun Novice.

Missions.... nearly the same max expert targets, that won't help if You want to become deadly.

And even PP targets (Agents, courrier ships, etc) the same!

So the big question.... how, where and who am I anyway

Any helpful ideas?

I have seen quite a few wings in supercruise: wanted Pythons with Cobras, all Master rank.

Maybe it's time to buy an interdictor if you want a greater challenge?

I've got an Interdictor and use it quite often (thats the way I kill Felicias Federal Agents )

But I need targets dangerous to Elite to have any results. Since last two updates it is relly hard to find any legal tough target.

That is the Problem!

I've just been all over the place looking for ships to engage. I found a decent RES but maximum Competent and mostly Expert or below apart from 1 Elite Cobra in 3 days (8 hours).
I found a system with multiple high intensity conflict zones (Opala) and tried them all. I was astonished to see 95+% Harmless/Mostly Harmless COMBAT ships with approximately 5% Novice and NOTHING else. In a conflict zone?! Ahh come on.
I had occasional interaction with signal sources and found only competent Vipers and Eagles.
Regardless of whether this all part of some clever Frontier Master-Plan it sure as Hell is BORING!

Oh, and the Harmless ships I was taking on in the conflict zones flew like and had the armour of Elite ships in 1.2 I know the ships have been made tricker but SURELY that's wrong?

It has to be bug, they will fix it soon I hope. In the meantime if you keep resetting CZ you can get normal spawns eventually.

Ok, than we have to sit and wait.

Since high value missions need Deadly or Elite rank this became even more important.

It's not fast, but if I sit in super cruise in a low sec system for a while, I do get elite targets. Sometime elite condas, which now often hand my ass to me lol.

I was in a high intensity RES site in Arexe yesterday. Came across a lot of Deadly ships. Made good money, too

I found 5 Anacondas Master and Expert in a SSS.
I am Dangerous but not that dangerous so I turned my Python and fled!
I would not survive such an encounter and even if I would, it would not contribute to my rank.
So I feel as far from Elite as ever.
