Newcomer / Intro Question: marketplace items

Are these items you can buy in the marketplace actually usefull for something or are they just there to get bought and sold around? I dont mean mission i mean actually using them like for example you buy some gold you buy some tritium you buy some iron and then you build something with it. is something like that possible?

Of the ones you list tritium is marginally useful but much later in the game as a fuel source but for now it is just another buy and sell item.

OP, if you mean producing something like in X3/X4 games than no, you can't buy meat, bread and agronomic treatment and create Rare Pantaa Sticks.

There are some commodities you can buy to help you purchase special weapons and modules, but this is something that is achievable when you are somewhat further into the game.

Mostly, the crafting mechanic in the game (engineering) requires items (raw / manufactured / encoded materials) that cannot be bought in the commodity markets. Materials must found and gathered, received as mission rewards, etc. Hence, since you can't just go buy them, you will see many people complaining about the "grind" to get these materials / engineering.
