[QUESTION] Master David Braben has said, "You don't design a game with long boring frustratating sections in it"

today i have discoverd an very interesting clip of the beginning from the elite dangerous project, in one of this i wonder of that was the GODFATHER OF ELITE UNIVERSE, Procedural Worlds, 3D World/Game and the Spacegame Genre itself has say's on a question to an elite player.

Sure, the question aims to another sense than i talk about, but the answer aims to an general type of answer. And now i wonder how and why it it possible that Master Braben said this, but the actual game experience is frustrating, boring and anoying as far u has reached an advanced type of your progress and/or have an ingame time more than 28 weeks u have play'd the game.
So for u to understand why i wonder, an so to be in the right position to answer my question i try to give an overview of my game experiences since i begin to play elite:
198x i begin to play the first elite on my 8 bit machine an i loved it to play
199x i played the 2nd elite for much years and have fun by the nostalic elite one from the 80s
2015 i begin to play elite dangerous (the 4th elite) with version 1.2 and begin to trade because i need money to get this anaconda and to get an elite rank and mony to equip this ship in shinrarta dezrha because it would be very anoying always to fly from station to station to get the equipment i need but there is no information left in my non existent bordcomputer in the year 330x, but we can fly with 2000x light speed trough the space, leaving instantly this world, with alt+tab (vr helmet users, i think would be anoyend one more time at this point) then travel back in time to the year 2015-2017 and then use an google machine to find websites in an language that is not your motherlanguage, by reading tons of text and/or tons of youtube clips, with informations that are not at an actual stat or not 100% correct. WOW!
---> This is anoying and frustrating!
on version 1.3 i wonder about the BGS and powerplays system, and i ask myself why should i gind my off for any political and virutal "specialists" (this was the diplomatic description) and get nothin for this? money i can made at this time with trading, but with PP? no, there u get more in trouble by getting interdicted from the PP-NPC's, so it makes no sense. The PP weapons was not really interesting and amazing to my to decide to grind my off.
on version 1.4 i see there was nerved the anaconda and all my work and fun with my 3 anacondas (1 trade, 2 for fight with diffenent settings) does not work after the nerve because there is not enough power, ok so i kill them and only trade with them, and begin to work to get this corvette ship that was now implemented in the game
on version 2.0 i wonder about the synthetics that i can collect with an buggy on an planet and i see there is another anoying, boring, grind mechnanism implemented to the game. so i should drive for hours on an planet surface to let my anaconda jump one time 50% more in range! are u kidding me? in the same time i can trade much more or make bounty hunting, so why should i do this? so i have never used this feature at this time.
but the, the big disapointment comes to me, version 2.1 - the engineers - and the ultra mega hyper grind comes with it that makes elite much more anoying, boring and senseless to me, but the skynet functionallty of the kamikazi npcs makes it impossible to play the game. all my rage, about this bad game desing was written down to some critics to this forum. so i begin to look to other games, stop playing elite, and look back to it from time to time.
2.2 comes up but the passengers was implementet with bugs that makes it senseless because of beta phases that does not ear the title "beta", so i have written another critics to this thematic to this forum, to give my desperation and disapointment an voice, in hope to FD will hear this and make some major changes to get profit by herself from this.
2.3 comes up and the multicrew is there, again with an immature state, so actually state and 2.3.03 will come to fix these, BUT for 2.3 FD has made an beta where this title will be ok! But the game always itself is boring to me, so i decicde to begin to work on the engineers. But then i see i cant continue because i do not find the needed materials, for example .. i can drive with my buggy on planet surfaces 3 days long but i do not find 1 arsenic on an planet with 2.9% arsenic .. or i do not get any material by scanning data points on "low sec" settlements ... and so i get disapointed one time more ...
this process of motivation myself, but getting disapointed, frustated, bored by always making the same things ( i call this grind ) is the problem, and so in wonder why the Godfather of elite, david braben, has sayd in th clip "You don't design a game with long boring frustratating sections in it" ... for this i can't find any words, and my quuestion is, what is going wrong there?
This case reminds me to an support ticket, in this i talk by the way about the grind in the game, and why FD is implementig so much grind-elements, but the answer was, "In elite it is not about grind", LOL!!! Are u kidding me?
