Question on assassination mission

Hey folks. Quick question. I've recently decided to let my trustworthy Hauler gather dust for a while and kitted myself a Viper to try the more, erm... exciting ways of making a living in the Elite Universe. Bounty Hunting it's been pretty easy, but the problem I am having is with assassination missions. I'm sure this has been asked but a quick search didn't yield the results I was expecting.

What should I do once I reach the target system? Should I drop out of SC and into each and every "signal source" I find? Or is there a more direct approach?

Thanks!

So grab a mission, pop into SC, slow your speed to 30km, check for a mission target spawn in SC (if you see the target and its not flying to a long distance destination then chase to interdict) while looking for USS's, you will find that since your moving at 30km the USS's will spawn within drop out distance (300-400km), this means you can drop to low space instantly, if the target isn't in there just jump out to SC again and rinse repeat.

Also its much better to stack these missions, there seems to be more chance for one of them to appear, I normally try to stack at least 4 missions within the same system.

The first you said. You can also find your mission target in SC so arm yourself of an interdictor and chek all the contacts while SCing.

They can be found on USS but for most of them they are now flying on supercruise so you'll need to use a FSD interdictors

You don't need the interdictor. Just follow the target around supercruise until they drop out and then jump out into their low energy wake. Sometimes they'll interdict you, so bring along some cargo bait.

Also, be prepared to pick up a bounty on your own head doing assassination missions. Quite often, powers you're allied with will send you after ships from their own minor faction. You have to weigh up whether the cash they're offering you is worth the potential reputation hit and the bounty you'll pick up.

Sometimes the targets (generally the Pirate Lords from what I've seen) drop into an instance you're already in fighting someone else. That's never a lot of fun.
