Question on the Letter based Weapon Rating

Greetings,

I wont ask for a comprehensive spreadsheet on the maximum weapon ratings you can find for each of the mounts.

I was wondering what the highest rating of:

1). Class 2 Beam Lasers (Fixed)

2). Class 1 Multi-Cannons (Gimballed)

I have D2 Beam Lasers which cost me a pretty penny, I was ultimately hoping to upgrade them to B/A if possible.

For my multis' - I have G1 Gimballed.

Are there any better variants? Thanks :D

This seems to come up a lot. Weapons of a given type have a fixed rating, unlike other ship equipment. So the only kind of C2 fixed beam lasers are D-rated. There are no others, so you can stop looking. Variants such as focused or overcharged used to modify it, but haven't seen those anywhere since release.

Haha right, I see, thanks very much for that info.

I knew that the rating system wasn't the standard *A = better than B* and that it probably had other components to it, but It would have taken a buck load of station outfitters to make me realise that.

I would give REP for that answer as you have saved me a lot of time trying to find high tech systems to travel too, but I can't give any rep yet.
