Question on Tunnels

I'm not fully understanding your question there (this section is for technical support though - you may do better with something like the How do I forum).

If you're referring to auto-tunneling with paths, it's not currently available.

Moved to the how do I forum. At the moment I don't believe you can auto tunnel paths. What you can do is dig a hole using the terrain tool, then build the path. Then you can fill in the hole and you have a tunnel. [happy]

just spray terrain over your sidewalks. :)

anyhow, paths and terrain could work better at times.

it's irritating that terrain is connected like concrete if you want to erase parts of the terrain directly next or below pathes.

How do i build them using Sidewalks
Havent figured out that one yet,

Well, you have to work around 2 main limitations:

1. Paths, unlike ride tracks, do not have the autotunnel option.
2. Terrain immediately adjacent to existing pieces of path cannot be edited.

So, you have 2 basic options.....

A. Build the path first, then bury it by pulling terrain up and over it. Useful if the path is going to be at or above the base ground level, and if you're going to be making a hill there anyway.

B. Dig the tunnel through an existing hill or down into the base ground level, then put the path through it. The floor of the tunnel must be very smooth and the slope not too steep or you wan't be able to place path in it. Also, the diameter of the tunnel needs to be rather wider than the path and have a ceiling about 6m at least above the top of the path. So it's generally a good idea to make the hole rather bigger than you want it, put the path in it, then pull the walls and ceiling in as far as they'll go afterwards.

I've used the Train.

Place a temporary station near where you want your tunnels to begin. Train your way through the blocked terrain and make sure to declare the train done. Then, select your train and delete it, and you now have a pretty good tunnel to lay a path. You could do same with a coaster, but the train stays flatter to your initial starting point. Create a bunch of trains through one big hill to make a bunch of interesting intersecting curving paths.
