Newcomer / Intro Question on where to sell exploration data

So, I embarked on my very first exploration quest, traveled nearly 400 Ly from Wyrd to Maia in the Pleiades Nebula. And on the way back I stopped in the first system with a station I found, in this case 64 Arietis, 170 Ly from Maia.

Now, I've heard the farther your travel the more credits you are given for your exploration data, my question is, is there a limit to this mechanic? I mean, if I sell my data right now I get close to a million credits, would I get a substantially greater amount if I waited and sold it back in Wyrd? Or would it be nearly the same and the value of the data stopped increasing at some point?

I do hope I made myself clear on that, sorry if I sound a little confusing, I'm pretty clueless myself :S

You shuld just sell the data now... There is no advantage in flying further away to sell them unless you want to earn some bonus point with a specific major faction like the Empire or Federation ect. you'll get the same price in CR. anywhere for explorationdata but you need to be at least 20 LY away from where you collected the data to be able to sell them at all...
What you are thinking of is proberly where to sell RARES that tence to pay more the further you go from where you got it... However I don't know if there is a limit to how high the price will be other than at some point you can't get any further away from where you bought it and still be in populated space....

The only thing that increases price with distance from source is rare trades (up to a sweet spot of about 160ly).

Discovery data pays the same wherever you sell it, so long as you travel at least 20ly. The only thing to consider is you get rep for selling it so if you are farming rep with a particular faction, sell the data to them.
