[Question] Paid Loitering Warning?

This is my first time playing the game and I don't know what this means, I keep getting "fined" because of it. I'm trying to do my first contract ever that requires me to deliver something to a system but in order for me to deliver it I have to land on a landing pad. But whenever I try to land on an open landing pad it says "Paid loitering Warning" in red with a count down and than I get fined 400cr than I'm getting attacked by the system.. What do I do? Don't make me say that I bought this game for this to happen to me every time I try to land on a system :|

You should do the docking tutorial mission, and the travel one as well. You need to understand docking and travel before you can play the actual game.

The warning you are seeing is Pad Loitering, not Paid Loitering. It means you are hanging around over a pad that is not assigned to you.

Hm, than how would I know which landing pad is assinged to me? Contract doesn't say. Just says I gotta deliver something to it.

You have to request landing permission, and you will be given a specific pad to land on. You cannot land on any other one, and it will be indicated by lighting up (that's the best way I can describe it, it's very obvious when you see it) and the pad number above it. You must land facing the correct way, facing the illuminated pad number.

If you try to land at any other pad, or even hover over one where you don't have permission to land, you will get the fine.

You must request docking via the comms panel and the station will give you a pad number to dock on. Without that you get fined and then blown up

Y'see, the problem here, is that you didn't ask for permission to land first! ^_^ No, seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. Press left on the D-pad and X at the same time to head over to the panel on your left hand side of your cockpit. (or look towards the left of your cockpit if you have default settings turned on) Once there, and you're within 7.5km of the station, head to the "contacts" tab, and select the station. There should be an option to request docking. Then if there's a docking pad open, they'll let you land at the one they designate for you! Hope that helped! Also, you should check out the training missions on the main menu, they'll teach you the basics like this. :D

Edit: You were getting those fines for loitering in a area you weren't given permission to be/enter.

Wow you mfs were helpful lol, thanks. I'll try to do the tutorial than; only skipped it because it was giving me videos instead of me actually doing it, you know? I like my learning hands on
