Question re. Commercial Sample Salvage Missions?

I've taken a couple of these missions.

All the mission objective USS throw up Trade Data.

I pick up the Trade Data but none of the mission objectives are completed????

Am I missing something or are these missions borked?

EDIT - For clarity I have found mission objective USS, they are blue, yes the ship told me they were mission objective signal sources and yes I used my discovery scanner.

I think there is a bug with these regarding that "Red Herring" trade USS that will usually be the Type-9 named "Ariel".

That isn't the actual mission objective USS you need to find. Ignore that one and search out the actual mission objective. When you drop into that one, there will be 3-4 samples or whatever the cargo is you need to grab.

mmmh I'm not seeing any errant T-9's. Just repeated Trade Data drops accompanied by Security ships and usually a NPC baddy.

You need to look for the actual "Mission Objective". It will be displayed in BLUE and Yellow text and looks totally different than any normal USS you come across. The ship voice will also announce it to you when it pops up, before you even lock onto it and follow it down.

And if you haven't done this already, you most often will need to blast your Advanced Discovery Scanner when you enter the system to get the mission to update and provide an actual planet location where the Mission Objective will be located.

Or scan the Nav Beacon near the sun, if you haven't been able to upgrade to an Advanced Discovery Scanner yet [or like to fly without!]

Yeah OK guys thanks

In case the OP wasn't clear enough I've managed to find the MISSION OBJECTIVE uss and yes it's in blue and yes my ships tells me it's the mission objective.

But the only things in them are (as per OP) Trade Data canisters.

Then that must be the commodity you are supposed to scoop up into your cargo hold. They will often show up as "haulage" in your inventory, and the mission should display the quantity of the required item you have already acquired, if any.

There is never more than (4) of any mission objective commodity.

Nope, I scooped em up and none of the mission objectives i.e. 0/2 Commercial Samples were updated.

It's baffling.

Later I did a different salvage mission and that was no problem.

Yeah this particular mission template seems bugged. I got this today and the samples werent there after repeated drop ins. I even went and got a cargo scanner to see if the pirates that spawn had them on board but they didnt.
