Question re: 'Steam' Horizons and 'Frontier' Elite Dangerous

I tried searching but couldn't find an answer to what I was looking for. I was hoping someone could assist.

Is it possible to purchase Horizons on Steam today and link it to my original existing Elite Dangerous game which I purchased through Frontier (5 years ago)? If so, is the process simple to do?

Bascially I want to be able to use the Frontier ED Launcher for both.

Thank you very much -
Lenny

You can buy Horizons from the Frontier Store direct, so you'd link that to the same account you purchased the original through, then the launcher would allow you to launch either the original or the expansion version- if that's what you meant when you said "both" above?

On your Frontier account page you can link to your Steam account, then the game can be launched from either the original launcher and Steam (although they are separate downloads in terms of double the storage required).

If you're asking because you want to buy Horizons from Steam because it's on sale and cheaper than Frontier are selling for, and that's the reason you want to then marry the two together, then I don't know.

You do own the original game though, so you could also log a ticket with Frontier who might be able to answer, as I think what you're asking is pretty specific so I don't know how many other people are likely to be able to advise on here...

Frontier have frequent sales as well with very good discounts.
If you can wait that would be an easy way to do what you want.
