Newcomer / Intro Question Regarding Bounty Hunting And Wanted Criminals of Minor Factions

So one of the things I was trying to do was boost Emipre minor factions... but when I went bounty hunting I noticed that some of my Wanted targets were part of the faction I wanted to boost.

Now if I kill these criminals do I help that minor faction or do I hurt it or does it do nothing if they are Wanted criminals?

Assuming you turn the bounties in at one of their stations, then my understanding is that they approximately balance each other out, with a slight rep improvement.
Personally, I let them go.

It was only when I saw two groups of NPCs of the same minor faction attacking each other that I wondered what affect killing the wanted ones did. It would be cool to get a kill report generated to see what effect the kill had... bit like the after mission report dialogue.

As a rule I leave any green contacts well alone. There are usually plenty more wanted fish in the void!
That said if I KWS them and its a bounty hard to resist then....boom!
Just make sure the bounty is cashed in at the right station to balance the rep loss, as Dom mentions above.

Really depends on what ship it is and what state your faction is in.
I would say if it's a trade vessel then leave it alone. Lose of trade will hurt.
I also think it's better not to have too many swings up/down. Don't give it a reason to stall.
Otherwise bounty should balance it somewhat.
