Question regarding controller

Dear fellow players,

I love this game but with mouse and keyboard for some reason it won't work for me. I admit however, I have not touched much on the sensibility, left it pretty much default, but for a new player looking to use a gamepad (I don't want a joystick because my desk is too high), but what kind of gamepads would work great with this game that are also easy to install?

Remember, for a new player that has never really used game pads but wants to give it a try. Any recommendations in particular ?

i use an xbox360 pad to play, i have an x52 HOTAS sat in the corner that i could use but the pad i have does the job well enough.

you need a keyboard for chat as well but your going to need that whatever control interface you use, plus it comes in handy for the odd extra keybind like FA off or throttle percentage settings
