Question regarding custom controls…

Avid player of Elite on Xbone here, wondering about something. A couple of weeks ago the devs came out and mentioned a bunch of new additions to the Xbox One Elite Dangerous; included in those additions was the option for custom controls. Now with that, does that mean that if I wished to use a joystick and throttle on my Xbox one, can I use it straight from the Xbox? Or, will I still have to plup the joystick/throttle into a third-party software, then I'd be able to customize my controls. Thanks for the help![up]

Oh ok. But, though, does that mean if I can get it so the joystick is registered as the "controller", I can re-map the joystick?

Someone here has managed to use his flight stick through a CronusMax adaptor controlled by his PC. There's no plug-and-play support for flight sticks/HOTAS yet

I was wondering the very same thing,

1.6 fully custom re-map + CronusMax adaptor + Hotas flight stick & throttle = full control\customisable flight stick basically making it native.

what do you think? i think its achievable guys, no?
