Question Regarding Exploration Rank

Hi I'm new to the Forum but I'm not new to the game so recently i got to 77% Ranger on my exploration rank after i traded in my data at Colonia i was just wondering would a trip to Sag A* then home (Using an Advanced surface scanner on all High metal content within 5000Ls all Water worlds within 40K ls and all ELW's) would be enough to get to elite explorer rank (I'm currently at 95 million Cr in Exploration)

Also i saw on the Wiki that you need 156 Million Cr to get to Elite however I'm not sure if thats total profit or 156 Million on top of ranger rank.

I think the total amount needed fer the elite hallmark is 165m but dont quote me, Im only half sure. It wont matter what ye scan or where, the rank appears to be credit based although actions like driving the srv wil move the bar up very small amounts in its own right, but the amount really is so small as to be almost undetectable.

HMC and ELW/ww arent actually the most valuable objects to scan...metal rich planets beat hmc although they are much less common. Black holes, neutrons and white dwarves will give a good credit return if thats what yer after and will get that elite rank faster, although if yer happy nuff with the more standard planets and moons then fair enough. Achieves the same thing just need to scan a lot more of them is all ^

With the increased exploration payouts you'd probably have to avoid scanning things to not get Elite exploration on a round trips to the core and back.

Elite's 320m now for pure explo data

Thanks for the info and i forget to mention it but i do go and scan metal rich planets. I made 80 Million when i arrived at Colonia so approximately i think ill receive around 90 million after arriving home at least so ill probably get to 165 Million.

Edit: Dang it'll take forever to get 320 mil!

Cool, although it appears my initial reply wasnt entirely correct. Im at colonia meself after self destructing halfway to sag A...little "accident" involving a useless crew member who flew my ship into the side of a mountain and reduced my hull to 20%...not bad considering I only left jaques yesterday ^

On the plus side, I lost 2 slf finding what has now become a bookmarked playground fer slf almost within spitting distance...enjoy the little things ^

Not necessarily. I made 20 million from a 1400ly trip where I discovered 5 new systems. I honked every system on the way and scanned planets only when it was previously undiscovered, or looked tasty enough. Mind you, it took me five hours with the return trip…

Farm neutrons fer a week...depending on how committed ye are, one could make that amount in a week...or a few days if ye go at it hard enough ^

This. You could spend the time looking for ELW's or scanning every object, but Neutron stars do give you the better return. Just be careful, they are dangerous little blighters.

Luckily I'm currently at the centre of the galaxy which i think has the densest population of neutron stars.

Hi,

I got 96Mcr from bubble to Colonia and this got me up to pathfinder 25% from my previous rating (cant remember what it was), I earned 370Mcr on the Colonia - Sag A* to home route and hit Elite easily. This was by scanning HMC and looking for ELW and WW...

So you should be fine!

WHAT!!!!! How did you get like triple the amount on the way back than on the way! I only got 80 million on my trip to Colonia (Im still on my way back) I guess everyones exploration trips vary. What's your jump range? How many systems did you visit on the way back?

I was 6% of Pioneer with only 76.8M profit from exploration.
Just handed in 4.7M
Now 8% of Pioneer - ranking up does take more now since they buffed the payouts.
