Question regarding 'storing' equipment.

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with how long stations have the buy back option? I'm asking because I wanted to make a base, and sometimes change outfit between hauling and then combat for later, but wondering how long the buy back option would work, since I would rather not having to run around finding my outfit again.

A way to 'store' equipment at a certain port would be nice.

Doesn't last long in my experience. Generally only until you have docked somewhere else, or if you've been logged off for a while.

the best way to store equipment is on another ship, the buyback option is carried over if you sell the item from one ship and then swap to another.

The buyback list seems to empty out after you undock or after a certain time. Fortunately it doesn't automatically clear if you crash out of the game, found that out first hand.

I use Vipers and Eagles to stash special weapons I've found. Whenever I want to swap I sell them to get them into the buyback list and then buy them on my other ship. Works pretty well and they aren't that expensive. But unfortunately Vipers can only hold up to medium sized weapons. If you wanted to store a size 3 weapon this way you'd have to buy an Imperial Clipper or Python. Not very economical at that scale.
