Ships Question regarding the type 9 (fuel / interdictions)

So i've finally reached 114+ million in CR and assets and was looking to get the type 9 for continued trading to earn enough for future additions such as the federal corvette or the panther clipper but...

1. Does it seem like you get interdicted more in the type 9 then any other ship you've flown previously?

2. If so do you just run or is fighting back to risky?

3. On a typical 13 ly jump what is the cost of the fuel?

Thanks in advance.

Just as many as in any other ship. NPC do not care, and players... there is far more people who just want to kill you, they do not care about your ship that much, than actual pirates.
It is easy to run from any NPC, A5 shield + some boosters + 4 pips to sys and you can just highwake without any risk at all.
With players... a wing of FDL-s will kill you anyway, from single "murderer" you can highwake too, reliably enough if you add a pair of small SCB-s. And with actual pirate you can negotiate.
Fuel costs do not matter. Compared to profit they can be cosidered zero.

1. Can't say about other players, but with NPCs I don't see a diffrence.

2. Never really tried to fight back XD Its the opposite of a fighter as much as possible, I would not recomend it.

3. Don't even know, its so low you don't notice it. The T9 does print money and fuel is cheap, don't worry about that.

1) Dev's have said that the number of weapons you have will affect how often npc's will interdict you.
I also believe T class ships do get targeted more often but have no evidence to support :p

2) T9 vs NPC you can win with a decent turret loadout and good shields, against players you have no chance if you can't run.

3) Not sure, sorry. Got a T9 but its in storage, Anaconda works too well as a combat-trader to use the T9 properly.

Best advice I can give, is grind for the anaconda, sell the T9 and enjoy flying with 48 less cargo but a lot more power and manoeuvrability.

You can use it as a protected trader with weapons, or the strip down super quick heavy cargo which can run from almost anything with much better range.

Thanks everyone, I might put in a fuel scoop to provide max profit, it's only because I've heard of 100,000 cr fuel bill, which sounds pricey after a while.

You will loose more profit wasting time near the star than you will have to spend on fuel.
You will also have less cargo capacity (you need space for fuel scoop) and additional risks of staying in supercruise near stars for a long time.
Totally not worth it.
Also do not remember exact numbers, but it will be <50k for full tank IIRC.

Took the plunge, I got no regrets.

It is as they say, slow but the amount of CR made is very nice and I will be a Tycoon sooner rather than later.x6aZRvx.jpg

Still got no regrets with this ship mate? I am considering switching to one of these as currently transporting in a python and i know its twice the journey. It's just the zero maneuverability and getting interdicted by the NPC's that harass you i'm worrying about.

I just need to save up for a new frame shift drive to make the jump.

Hmm, if thats happening to someone skilled and i tend to fail then i can see a 100% fail rate occuring. With it being a snail, can you cope with getting away from the pirates after?

With it slow turning away from the sun after a jump, dealing with pirates, slow at docking stations i am wondering if i would be shooting myself in the foot. It's already got very poor laden and would have to make sacrifices to hit mid 13 light years.

Shame it's the anaconda that is actually the transporter ship, that can be upgraded to the high heavens and still have better laden and an extra 4 ton cargo. I understand the T9's cheaper but due to insurance costs, if you guaranteed to get blown up then its actually turned out expensive to transport cargo. Personally under laden i think the T9 should've excelled, coping close to unladen if it's already lacked in maneuverability. Something that separated it from the battleship annie.

(oh and by the way, did you use a 5A shield generator, did you cope?)

Update: Well looks like i might have to give it a miss, an anaconda interdicted me, i escaped, and almost immediately after he interdicted me again, lightning fast and eradicated my shields. If they can retract hardpoints and enter warp and pull you back out of it that fast i can't see the next ship standing a smidgin of hope.
