Engineers Question: stacking of "Corrosive Shell" effect on multiple weapons

Hello commanders, hello Frontier!

I have managed to exchange McQuins reputation for corrosive shell special effect on 2 of my high capacity multicanons.

I wonder, if it makes sense to have 2 weapons with this effect together in my loadout on FDL, or should I transfer one of them to my other ship and keep just 1 on FDL? Does the effect stack - meaning 2 corrosive shell MCs weaken the hull more then just 1 ?

Thank you! Cmdr Karlos

One of the FD devs explained how corrosive shell works during 2.1 beta and at that point he indicated that the effects don't stack. Assuming that hasn't changed then you are better off using a different effect on the second weapon. The only exception is that if you have two mulicannons with poor convergence (such as the side-mounted class 2 mounts on the Fed dropship) and you often only have one multicannon firing at a time then you might want to keep both effects. The damage resistance debuff is quite substantial (25% additional damage) and maintaining upkeep of the effect might be worth having some "redundancy" in the fields of fire.

It doesn't stack, and it doesn't matter what size weapon it's on. Some folks put corrosive on a small turreted weapon so it's constantly applied. I haven't tried that one yet. I just have it on my main MC.

They don't "stack" but I believe they're RNG applied.... Sooo having two weapons with the mod will have more uptime. At least that's what I've heard.

Think of thermal rounds. That MC will always do thermal damage.
