Powerplay QUESTION: what happens to powerplay weapons when we defect?

so it takes a month and a decent amount of cargo movement to get said weapon, so what happens exact when we defect from a faction after unlocking and/or buying the weapon?
- do we get to keep it on our ship?
- does insurance cover it?
- can we still purchase it?
- can we buy ammo for it?
- do we lose it forever unless we go back to the power?

these our questions im sure im not the only one who has them, and nobody i believe wants to risk that 1 month waiting period to find out.. so does anyone already have the answers?

- do we lose it forever unless we go back to the power? Only if you replace it after you defect and miss on the buy back time.
