So I was looking at all the options for models of 1060 cards.

I noticed that some are short, some are long. Links below to what I mean.

Short: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/evg...hics-card-1280-core-1607mhz-gpu-1835mhz-boost

Long: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi...eady-graphics-card-with-twin-frozr-vi-coolerp

I am talking about the length of the cards.

Here's the thing. I respect MSI's Twin Frozr a lot. It's what my 960 has, and I would happily buy it for the 1060.

But I have heard good things about EVGA cards, and a shorter card is rather appealing, on the face of it anyway, because cable management & airflow is important to me, and a shorter card gives the impression of easing both factors. I plan on getting a few items to improve cable management soon, and some aftermarket fans. My case has five 120mm mounts. It's a Zalman Z11 Plus.

What I would like to ask is, is are there any drawbacks with a short profile card like the one linked? Or is it a perfectly viable option? I admit, the significantly lower price of the shorter card is another attraction, and if I deem the drawbacks (if there are any) of a short profile card to be minor enough, then I think I may go for a short profile card instead.

Or would I be better of going for one of the longer cards?

As ever, thanks for your input, and I look forward to seeing your replies.
