Questions about my Annie

Ok so I've seen posts about folk having a cargo Annie that has 50 to 55+ ly jump range.

I know this is partly due to good rolls on a G5 FSD Mod.

But what else?

Could yall help me out?

Running empty, fully loaded will reduce jump range - min/current/max on the bottom of the outfitting screen.

Most I've hit so far was 42 some ly when loaded.

Wanted to try and shoot for at least 50.

Sounds good, what FSD roll did you get, are you running shields, weapons, boosting PD.

I have a 47% on the conda and something similar on the cutter. With the cutter, modded 6A prismatic shields and some boosters approx 2,500mj strength. 720t fully loaded with military armour and fully equipped weapons inc huge multi around 20ly jump.

Can't remember the last roll, and no weapons.
3b shield unmodded.
Modded PP, and thrusters.
Haven't touched the PD yet.

But I know I wanna aim for less overall mass ??

Fully combat fitted conda on my end, with no cargo and a full tank. I sit at a 24.76 ly range, still can get a better roll though.

I have a bare bones explorer that'll do 58.33ly happily. The only mod is the grade 5 Fsd. With 300t of cargo she can still manage 37.78ly.

I know people who have had better rolls and mass lessening secondary effects and can manage 60ly though.

If you fit an A rated FSD and D Rated everything else, you will maximise your jump range.
Using components that weigh less will increase your jump range.

If you wanted to get extreme with the weight saving you have a few options with engineers
You can do lightweight mods to your weapons, but on a Conda that will not have a big effect on jump range.
You can use a lower class powerplant and overcharge it to save on weight
Use a 5D power distributor and modify it with Engine focused power distributor
Modify E class shield boosters as Heavy Duty so that they provide the benefit of A class shield boosters at a similar weight, but a fraction of the power.

The important thing to remember is you can undersize your power distributor, powerplant and thrusters. I don't mean D rate, I mean one or several classes lower. For instance a one class lower distributor works well enough even with a full loadout of lasers and multicannons, as long as you are not expecting to be able to go toe to toe with a player or elite npc.

Back in the day,

you know, before engineers

My TradeConda was pretty specialized with light weight and no weapons. It could jump a little over 20ly and carry 458 T.

If you want a decent fuel scoop things change a bit. Based on that I don't see how you get much more than 30 - 31 ly fully laden.

A max G5 FSD mod is 50% with the occasional outlier roll above 50% would suggest a really good mod would put a fully laden trader without a scoop at somewhere around 30ly unless you lighten it up with less cargo.

This might work. I'd mod the fsd and the shield boosters for better shields and it might be worth a dose of dirty drive modding as well.

Still, hard to see how you get too far north of 30ly fully laden.
