Questions about PP 2.0 and the BGS

So in the Discord server for my pledged power, ALD, they recommend that all bounties (and other related items) be turned into the the Power Contact instead of the usual Admin contact to so the cash-in won't affect the BGS.

Can anyone confirm that it works this way? If so, fine. I'm not interested in interacting with the BGS most of the time anyhow. However, will turning bounties into the Power Contact still give me increase reputation with those factions? Neutralizing influence to prevent BGS issues, fine; not gaining reputation with factions, which may benefit me with missions later - nope.

So can anyone clear up how this works?

Turning into the Power Contact certainly gives the normal reputation. Possibly slightly more, since the contact often boosts the payout (which is as good a reason to use it as any)

I'd be surprised if it didn't also have the normal BGS effect, but I haven't tested that personally. If you want to neutralise the BGS effect (but keep the reputation) handing the bounties in to a system that faction isn't present in is the guaranteed way to do it.

That said, if you want high rep so you can get better missions which certainly will have a BGS effect when you do them, you might as well not worry too much about the BGS effect your actions are having now either.
