Questions about Ship Transfer Cost

I've done some googling around but most of the results are a year old and might be out of date so I'd like to ask does anyone know what the current ship transfer cost is like?
Currently weighing my options of flying a 15 LY jump range ship and doing probably 20+ jump vs getting a high jump range throw away ship that'll probably cut the jumps in more then half, but if the transfer cost is still the same as before I might just do the jumps instead of burning millions of credits.

The ship that is going to be transferred costs ~135.7 Million Credits and my destination is 262LY away, if you need the details.

The costs and time are also proportional to how far you have to transfer the ship.

300 odd light years shouldn't cost too much over the odds, transferring to colonia on the other hand...

For 262 ly, I would have spared the googling and waiting for forum answers and just jumped 20 times, that would have been far more economic...

I've added additional detail as to my destination and the cost of the ship.

Short answer - If you are transferring frequently and are not using exploits then it's better to fly yourself

If you have a few billion in the bank and travel once in a while then transfer works fine.

As for the Colonia cost yeah, 120% odd of ship value to transfer out there. That having been said you can't get most ships/modules in Colonia yet so its a sellers market :p

I honestly think the costs are way too high.

In fact, they are so high I would like to take these "ship transfer contracts" on as missions.

Imagine, making $100m to fly a ship for 20 minutes... easy money!

And obviously for any decent CMDR flying an Anaconda is not 100 times harder than flying a Sidewinder, so I don't see why the NPC pilots get paid 100 times more to transfer them, but that's just me! :-D

I'd like to see us given an option to use our idle NPC crew to fetch our ships for the cost of their pay, even if they took into account your distance from the ship you want transported and added risk of damage/extra time depending on the level of your crew member. I mean it would allow for 2 "free" ship transfers that may take longer than expected and get slightly bent up (depending on your crew) but would allow you to transfer from anywhere at almost any time and actually have a reason for hiring more than one credit sponge...

You can get a combat or trade ship to wherever the action is [barring edge cases] and it costs...what. half an hour's worth of cash, if that.

That's pretty generous. Transport costs never cause me to hesitate, because I know I'll pay it off in a negligible amount of time.

Sure, you can't get your Corvette to Colonia for a reasonable price, but that would be an absurdly ridiculous line of argument.

I actually think the ship transfer cost is proportionate. The player must make choices- either pilot the ship to the destination, or pay to have it hauled. Consider the premium as "insurance" that your ship will arrive at its destination unharmed. There is no chance of "failure", after all...

OFC, that it cuts down on exploits is debatable- because most exploiters know that as soon as they get to their destination they'll have credits to burn anyway and the transfer will pay for itself. It's the same in any game, the rewards far exceed the costs, otherwise it wouldn't be of value to them.

IMO they should give Exploration Data rewards the same benefit scaling it with range... the further out you go from the system you turn in at- the more you're rewarded for it. As with any other traded commodity, the further you have to travel, the more rare the item will be and more valuable it becomes.

IME in the bubble transfers are about right ... Reason being if I fly anywhere in the bubble in my long range asp and then do a slow ship transfer I can earn at least the cost of the transfer whilst I am waiting. IF FD lower the cost any more then using transfer will be MORE efficient than doing it yourself and that ain't right imo. I can't comment on colonial costs but the I would rather you could not transfer out there anyway
