Powerplay Questions about switching PowerPlay power for the unlocked after 4 weeks modules

Hi guys,

I've been pledged to ALD constantly for over two years now and haven't yet switched to another power to unlock their module. There are only a couple modules I want: 1) Packhound Racks from Li Yong-Rui and 2) Prismatic Shields from Aisling Duval. This week I've not made good progress on my merits and I'll be cutting it close to get my 10k, so I'm thinking of switching for several weeks to get one of the modules.

My questions:

Question 1 (multiple related questions): Is the four weeks based on an exact four weeks time from when you switch or is it based on four "cycle ticks"? In other words, will it make a difference if I switch before the tick tonight of just after the tick? As I recall the "salary" you get is delayed one week so I'm wondering if I'll loose last weeks salary if I un-pledge before the tick. If I don't switch before the tick and instead just after the tick, will that make my wait time one week longer than it would have been?

Question 2: I understand you can just un-pledge or defect. I understand that if you defect, you will be hunted. If you don't defect will you not be hunted at all? I'm not really worried about being hunted. I just wanted to know.

Question 3: Are there any other things I should know before I switch so I do it right?

It's the first cycle tick after 4 weeks pledged. I think. This is because you need to be the required level. Happy to stand corrected though.

I think you get chased for a bit whatever. Have only defected though, so might be wrong.

You just need to make sure you have the cash you need to buy all those prismatic shields. The class 8 are a lot of cash.

Switching to LYR first for the Pack-hound missiles I think. Not sure if Prismatic Shields are worth it yet. Cash isn't a problem!
