Questions about the light passing us in SC

As we all know when you are in SC you see those light effects passing you. But shouldn't they only appear if you fly almost at least 1C? At the moment they even appear if you fly at "only" 30km/s. Correct me if I'm wrong I have no knowledge about this physics stuff :p

Just something that give you a bit of reference that you're actually moving. Without those you'd not really know (without looking at speedometer) whether you're going fast, slow, or backwards.

Careful, this kind of stuff can damage your brain!

I was dubious about the blueshift when you drop out of SC, should it not be red?

Technically in reality it won't matter.

As you fly closer to the speed of light the lights from the stars that you see should actually get more and more forward until all you get is a dot.

However of course in the game Frame Shift is warping space-time in a bubble around the ship itself and your ship itself is not really travelling faster than the speed of light so we don't know what "real" view might look like :p

So the "Star Wars" star field of view in this case is probably the best and only option for visual effects.

Firstly, the "space dust" isn't light, or even space dust. It's a HUD element to give you a sense of your true vector.

Secondly, frame shift drive moves space itself, not your ship independently. You aren't going fast enough in your local frame of reference to produce a significant spectral shift.
