Questions about the Python.

This is completely wrong. When you can properly afford a ship like this then you are making enough profit that even losing the ship all together is trivial I have a fully pimped Python and a t9. I spend a couple of hours in both each evening. I've had the Python blew out from under me lots of times but an hour in the t9 more than recovers the loss.

Your mileage may vary. If I need to trade to support my Python, then that may not a prospect most people look forward to. A Viper can do everything just as well in terms of combat and the rewards scale better with the risks. It's about perception as well. Just because you don't mind, doesn't mean that others feel the same. It's just something worthwhile to consider.

A dumbfire viper can blow away a Python in seconds anyway. The 5M insurance may just be couple hours trading, but that's too high a price possibly for some to have "fun".

A good python pilot meets a good viper pilot and the viper is dust. All things equal the rebuy cost is still just a percentage of the value of the ship for either and both ships have there down side. For the python fuel is more expensive for the viper the power plant struggles to cope. Every ship in ED has a down side.

That's not quite the point. A dead viper = 1 assassination mission in insurance costs. If you want to support a Python you better trade or be careful with it. If missions would scale the problem would be less pronounced. By the way, power issues in a viper are negligible if you set module priorities correctly. That's hardly a downside.

This should be done. Python is simply too good now.

So the cost will come down then? is that not the point to get into that ship its the cost of it and lots of people had to grid to get to buy one just to be told its going to be nerfed,

Did you have 4 pips in shields and were you exiting in a slow sensible manner? I assume not.

Good point.

I always play open and get scared about the so very bad manners that a lot of commanders have surrrounding and inside stations.

People boosting inside the station or getting in front of you (coming from behind) when you are about to enter the letterbox, to name a few.

If this was real, such behaviours would be severily punished, since not only they risk themselves, but the rest of the traffic.

It's like trying to land a B747 at cruise speed...

Many commanders get over confident when they're in a bigger ship than yours, and do not care showing their strength making a fast pass-trough. This are the same commanders that end up blowing and complaining at the forums about broken game or excesive repair costs.

To them I say: "approaching and docking is a delicate and dangerous maneuver. Stop complaining and slow down".

Against what ? All the cheaper ships ? :)
Maybe it is why the Python costs so much.

Have you read the post that I replied to? The only issue raised is Python's manoeuvrability.

As for the rest - Python is the ship that most of the players want to own now. This ruins the game. It is going to be boring if everyone will use Pythons only.

I bet that will change as soon as new ships are released.

As for me, I'm like the rest, making my way to the Python...

Having the Python there is no trouble at all in earning money for maintenance or repairs. If you want to make a trading Python then you can equip it with D3 shields and cargo racks that could transport 284t of Cargo. This should allow you earning 3M Cr per hour without any efforts.

If you choose to make a combat Python then you are going to equip it with A6 shield generator and A6 shield cell banks. Taking out the shields in this configuration is not easy and given the Python's firepower you should not have any troubles earning money bounty hunting or taking assassination missions.

How do you achieve this number of cargo space?
