Ships Questions ''degrading'' the Paint Work

Recently I ran into a situation that makes me want to have a very bad paintjob. Reduce the Paint Work condition to 10 - 20%.

  • Is it possible? How low does it go?
  • And what is the fastest way to do it?

A short story about why I'm doing it..
With the AX narrative, I wanted to get a small ship and re-fit it for AX Combat. As an old ship the is being reporpused to join the fight.
But the color I chose had nothing to do with the picture or the lighting in any station..

It's not really close to what I expected, so I was wondering how it would with most of its color missing.

Paint decays while you are in Supercruise. If you want it to be nice and rough, just take a long Supercruise. Hutton would work. Go there and back.

Paint does not decay from Hyperjumping, or from wandering around in normal space. Only in Supercruise.

Paint will go down to 0%, at which point there’s still a lot of paint remaining. If this doesn’t make sense, contact FD, not me.
