Queuing at outposts

This is getting really ridiculous. I've been parked at an outpost for an hour and theere's a long and persistent queue, mostly NPCs with the occasional human player. I've been sending docking requests constantly and being denied constantly but seeing NPCs dock and leave all the time.

There needs to be a queueing system where you have a place in the queue, visible to you, so that you have an idea of the likely wait.

It can't go on like this.

I'm in a Sidewinder, BTW, and i'm clean.

Takes longer to wait that it does to exit to solo mode and come back... and yes, something needs to be done.. It's breaking my Immersions :p

Yea, outposts can be terrible traffic clogs... can happen in group too (and possibly solo, never played solo... so no idea), tho then its just NPCs being in the way.

I've never had to wait on solo mode, but have in group and open... but that's just my experience and know absolutely nothing about nothing :D

There is queuing only in Open. Solo does not have queue's because you do not see players.

I do solo a lot. I would group but as life goes I have not met anybody I would like to stroll around the universe with

I don't think solo mode would have made any difference -- almost all of the other ships were NPCs, who would have been there in solo mode as well.

I've only ever played open and I've not had to queue for anything since release. Where's this incredibly busy station? Do you have to go to THAT station?

It was in the Kini system. I was playing my son's Sidewinder while he was answering a call from his girlfriend. He's just started playing and was doing abysmally credit-wise, and I'd just got him started on doing missions, and his balance was looking a lot better. So I took a mission on his behalf to deliver stuff to Kadenyuk Orbital (outpost), and that's where I rean into this horrendous queue. He had been playing his own ship earlier tonight, and we came upon another outpost where there was also a queue, can't remember which one. Before we started tonight, he told me he'd always been denied access to outposts since he'd started playing Elite, so i was keen to see what the problem was - evidently it's overcrowding, and by NPCs who can probably get their docking requests in faster than us humans, and so jump the queue.

Wow. I haven't played in about 36 hours so unless it's a really recent thing, it's localised as like I said I've no seen it at all, but of course with missions you have no choice of destination. Hopefully it's a bug that'll get squished quickly. Have you ticketted it? If it's not a bug then yeah they need a queue system.

Don't think it can really be classed as a bug, probably just something they never thought about. I haven't raised a ticket -- I haven't had a reply from them about one I raise 6 days ago, so they're probably still out partying.
Here's a screenshot of part of the queue.

Find a less crowded system? I haven't had to queue yet, and I've no shortage of trades or targets.

If you want to be part of the zerg hitting the rares in the most populated systems, you're going to have to deal with traffic.

Its not localised have seen this at a dozen or more outposts I have visited across 30 light years. I only play open mode, and some times log out and back in to resolve it. The Devs must know about it so it will be on the list to be sorted. I have even had issues with Corolis station and ships waiting, it was only a minute or more mind and depends on the time. I am based around Swaza but stray several light years all around and think a lot of people started in Trevithick Dock (think that was the correct spelling).

... there's a reason why people use small outposts and it's not for for the food! :D

I actually love the queuing system right now as it does work, you just have to be patient.

(FWIW - sometimes you can desync from the server and the request always fails : Save and exit, then login and retry .. Only had this happen to me once and that fixed the problem)
