Quick and dirty ship interiors

Star citizen and their "everything has to bee real"

I can't help feeling that star citizen, in setting the ship interior bar so incredibly high, are the reason we are not getting ship interiors.

Here is my suggestion.

Give us 'quick and dirty' ship interiors.
Cockpit, Pilots quarters, armoury, multicrew bunk room, some kind of main room, access to srv door, and fighter hanger door, access to ship ramp.... And that's it.

Yes it would be awesome to be able to fit a shield gen, and then see it, and then move it, and then see it in the new location, but that's not happening, and doesn't exist in any game that's out or planned.

We don't care if actually the ship interior "doesn't make sense"

We don't need some flawless transition from Pilots seat to ship interior. A loading screen that puts us onto the other side of the cockpit door will do.

Gravity problem. Solved by mag boots.

And we get it, the ship interiors might completely change, and the bit you can walk around in somehow takes up 90% of the inside of the ship, so where is everything else going?

and if I walk 5 meters to the srv bay, how can that be if the srv bay is 50 meters behind the cockpit

We don't care

We don't need star citizen. We know its a game.

Mass effect had ship interiors, and. It was pretty obvious that the thing was a tardis, far bigger on the inside than out, yet no one cared

FDev said that ship interiors will not be available "at launch" of EDO.

And may I suggest to stop using "we" and "us". I don't know about anybody else but I don't want anybody speaking or suggesting anything on my behalf. You never know if I'm for or against whatever it is you're suggesting and I certainly don't want to be even remotely associated in any way with the apparent ripoff that is "SC".

Jaisus,

Fine... I think it would be worthwhile to have place holder ship interiors that could give us cool gameplay features and maybe... Just maybe... Help us to recruit our non Elite playing friends into playing the game.

But no you guys are probably right, I'm sure the players that will come take a look when oddesy drops will be totally content with teleporting into a chair they are glued into, and that the oddesy gameplay will benefit from not having a space on the giant ship you own to mess around with load outs etc.

And I'm sure that given the fact that the amount of micro-transactions made, which is linked to player number and engagement won't effect the delivery time of the super perfect star citizen ship interiors you want I must be a complete moron to suggest such a thing

But F me for using the word we right?

I for one, and probably quite a few others want ship interiors, but FDev said it wasn't something they were looking at and told all who was listening/reading that they would NOT be available at the launch of EDO. They (FDev) didn't say they are not going to include them, just that they will not be available at launch. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know how Star Citizen is relevant because as far as I’m aware with my minimal interest, as a bar to be exceeded it’s not even a bar yet...

I’d love to see ship interiors and soon, but when I do see them I’d like them to match the detail on the ship models for better or for worse; there should be parity. They should fit inside their respective hulls, and a bit of distinction between a Lakon and a Gutamaya interior, between a freighter and a fighter interior. If that’s too much to ask then no matter, it’s not a deal breaker since I’m here already. And if I have to wait to see them that’s fine too!

Basically, to me, it’s not something I’m going to twist my melon over 🤷‍♂️

I agree, that the ship interiors need to be high quality, and take on board the styling of each respective manufacturer.

The thing is, if we couldn't modify the ships, likely the game would have launched with interiors as its not much work.

What makes ship interiors an absolute ache in the proverbial is the customisable nature of the ships. If its an access all areas ship interior, that is an absolute nightmare to put together.

But even if, the ship interiors are completely changing based on the load out, there are still going to be 'core internal' spaces that remain the same. Like the cockpit, some rooms directly behind it and the entry ramp.

So why not just craft those, and have the rest of the doors locked?
A half pint isn't as good as a full pint, but a half pint is surely better than no pint

We pretty much agree then! But I wouldn’t call it quick and dirty, I’d rather they do a little bit well. I’m not fussed about waiting, or if it’s even going to happen. There’s plenty to keep me here already.
