Can anyone confirm that I can make 75k by going to Antal, signing up for the community goal at Lobachevsky station and then selling 1 tonne of any metal?

Yup. And the more people that sign up and sell just 1 or 2 tons the more people can get in the higher tiers

The higher tiers are based on what percentile you fall in.
The more people that deliver 1 ton and be done with it the easier it is be be considered amongst the top 70/40/15/5% of contributors.
Does it work on tonnage or number of contributors?
Sounds accurate. 75k is not even peanuts tho..
I guess it depends on how close one is to Antal. Lots of lucrative jobs out there... my nephew just started playing today, and his first mission was 86K to deliver contraband to an outpost 2 jumps away.
It may be peanuts to some, but for a newb in a sidey it was an absolute windfall!

You are ranked against everyone else and put into the rank categories (Top 5%, top 15% etc).
Basically imagine a list of all the CMDRs like this and add in separators
CMDR 1 = 20T
CMDR 2 = 45T
------------------ Top 5% line
CMDR 3 = 50T
Now if a load more CMDR's join with low tonnage the top 5% is now easier to reach:
CMDR4 = 1T
CMDR5 = 1T
CMDR6 = 2T
CMDR7 = 4T
CMDR 1 = 20T
------------------ Top 5% line
CMDR 2 = 45T
CMDR 3 = 50T
Obviously scale up to 000's of contributors and add in the other % lines.

This. You could make the same cash killing eagles at a RES in about 5 minutes.
I delivered 2 tons of cargo I robbed from another player to a community goal once and wound up with a 7 million dollar reward...
