For trading you would have to find a very quick route. In Gamma I found a 2-way route (doesn't work anymore) between 2 stations in the same system and I could run both ways in less than 10 minutes.
With bounty hunting you can just dip in and out if you prepare. I sometimes leave my ship ad a nav beacon so I can dip in, grab a kill or two and then log out again.

Short answer, in my opinion, no.
There's an outpost I use, 0.1ls from an extraction zone, so 1 minute to get off outpost, 2 minutes SC and dropout. 1 minute to find a baddie, 30s to kill them; all told about 5 minutes, the about 3 minutes to return. You think to yourself, that was only 5 minutes, I'll just find another baddie...the next thing you know you're sitting in a festering pool of your own filth, you've been fired and the wife's left you. Or is that just me.
So I suppose with self discipline, yes, there is an 8 minute option out there.
