the 80's for me, i played the very first version of the game on the BBC B and then convinced my parents to buy me an Acorn electron and played on that. it might as well have been an Elite console as its the only thing that ever got loaded on it.

This is my first exposure to Elite. I didn't have a PC capable of handling Frontier when it came out and by the time I did it was forgotten in the past. I was a mere young lad whose parents didn't think computers were for games when the '84 Elite came out.

80's for me too, I had a Vic 20, friend of mine had a Commodore 64, hadn't seen or heard from him for a few days, during school holidays, so went over his place to find out what was up. There he was playing this game with graphics like I'd never seen before, I mean the 64 excelled at sprites, but this guy was playing a game with 3d graphics, sure just hidden line unfilled vector graphics (didn't know it was that back then), but WOW!!! So after much much begging and much hard labour (for a kid) my mother bought me a C64 and the game....

80's for me. Elite wasn't my favourite game (so many incredible games back then - stuff like Dungeon Master, Head over Heels, Doomdark's Revenge) but it was clearly destined to go down in history as a true great.

90's for me, Frontier Elite II on the Amiga 500. My old man was reminiscing about the original at the time and now I do the same whilst playing ED!
