Quick question about heat.

Heat = thermal ?
If the ship have a thermal resist, it's mean you got not so much heat damage, relatively the ship without thermal resist?

No,

Thermal resistance is vs Lasers only

Heat is internal stuff.

There is another thread where someone was challenging this using laws of thermodymaics. The 2 things are not related in Elite gameplay, so there is not a correlation.

I would stick with the above.

Despite the name Thermal Shock, thermal resistance in your shields will have no effect against it. cooky's info is correct.

It was more like he was making stuff up using the laws of thermodynamics as a cover. Nothing that he said was actually correct or logical.

Thermal Shock effect increases the heat of your ship. Go above 100 and you will start taking damage.
Lasers cause "Thermal" type damage to shields and hull. This does not increase the heat of your ship.
Oh mein Gott... I know about thermal or kinetic weapons/resistance and etc. My question is only about HEAT. And i'm confused just cuz the name of "heat" mod got THERMAL - Thermal Shock.

Thanks.
Any test for proof ?
