Hello folks - I've never used SLF's yet, but given my current run has pirates lined up nose-to-tail and I can't make it five feet without tripping over someone who's 'gonna boil me up', I decided I'd try one.
I plopped a fighter bay into my T9, stuffed a Taipan (gelid F) into it, and gave my pilot something to do for once other than sit there looking pretty.
She is currently STILL sitting there looking pretty - 'cause the moment I put a fighter bay in, I've seen exactly ONE pirate. Becky deployed, I fumbled with the commands a bit and in seconds she was happily blasting away and kept the guy busy until the cops showed up.
Successful test.
BUT - my question is about the frequency of attacks - without the bay, I literally couldn't move for pirates. Four interdictions in 45,000ls was not uncommon - nor was an interdiction within 5 seconds of arriving in-system. Now, with it? Crickets.
Is this coincidence, or does having a fighter bay adjust the piracy frequency?
Thanks.
