Quick Question about steam

Never found a way, it works for certain games where you can choose the picture ingame but I have yet to find a way for planet zoo. Browsing the workshop from even the big name creators shows zero custom thumbnails.

Dang that’s unfortunate, I don’t even want to make it like an edited thumbnail I just want to add a better image. Thanks anyway cap 🫡

Have you gone to the "edit images" section of your workshop item? You can also drag the thumbnails so they are in the order you want them to be in. If you need to, you can add a new photo and drag-n-drop it to the first slot so it's the thumbnail pic.

Hopefully that works

Yeah I’ve done this but it doesn’t change the actual picture of the item when you’re just scrolling past search results. They only show up when the item is clicked on.

I think you need to upload separately. Download the image you wanna use, then upload it to the steam workshop file or whatever it's called

After looking more into the Planet zoo workshop, it seems only the top 2 static bird blueprint creators - drac and jaguar_x - utilise the custom thumbnails on a frequent basis. Since there is no mention or comments asking for the thumbnails (and I can't be bothered asking), I think the only possible method would be to manually change the thumbnails in the workshop files in the steam folder and then forcing an update through the workshop blueprint edit function.

All that being said though, this isn't youtube where custom thumbnails are necessary to bring traffic. The item simply has to look nice by altering time of day and focusing your camera angle on the subject you want to capture.
