Quick question about voice attack.

It's possible to use it to play Elite WITHOUT an HCS pack, right?

If so could anyone point me to a good guide on making my own profile?

That's good to hear. I have a specific reason to not want an HCS pack involved anymore.

Just bear in mind Voice Attack isn't liked by anti cheat in certain games.

I left it running and got a ban from PubG... I'm still pretty sure it was the anti cheat picking up voice attack as an application it doesn't like. The devs wouldn't un ban my account as they couldn't 100% confirm this! For the record I wasn't using any other apps, cheats or hacks. Had to buy the game again on a 2nd steam account and since playing over 400 hours without voice attack no problems.

Look in the footprint, it says ‘I have multiple personality disorder, so don't expect consistency from me.’
So i suppose it was another unikorn last year....;-)

It's fine with ED though. No issues here.

Probably, and just to show my appreciation I shall send rep to Slopey.

But my MPD is a thing. There's a reason I don't shut up. I have a post-it on my monitor reminding me to keep that bit in the sig'.

I set up a va profile recently to give wingman commands in il2 bos. If you just want it to press keys for you on voice cue, its really pretty simple to set up. Just start VA and click the plus sign in the main window and choose new profile and you have the option to create new commands/ key presses.

interesting and good to know.
I despise cheaters in online games however this kind of thing seems heavy handed at best. I regularly play games after elite and forget to disable voice attack so this could easily have happened to me.

Though banned for voice attack is like i said, way OTT imo, it is hardly a cheat imo, if anything it is slower than a button press in most cases (but way more immersive)

I use it mainly for pip management...it's much much faster than doing it manually!...and it's always bang on, where as with the hat switch I can accidentally clip down and it resets to 2, 2 and 2 and I have to start again :(
It doesn't matter how the pips are currently set...if I shout "Leg it" then it puts four pips to engines, 2 to shields in well under quarter of a second.

I am looking forward to amending my VA profile to accommodate the new UI once 3.3 goes live. So many things to fiddle with!

Thanks guys. I had no idea you set VA to recognise joysticks.

This is going to help greatly with my custom VA profile.
