Quick question for the experts. Pharmaceutical Isolators.

Hi everyone,

What is the best mission run for rewards to trade at the material trader for Pharmaceutical Isolators? Robigo? What rewards should I look for when taking passenger missions that will trade? Any Tier 5 engineering rewards?

Is there another way to get Pharm Isolators? Dav's Hope seems slow, but it is easy and fast.

Going to try the trader instead of HGEs.

Thanks for the help.

You won't find them at Dav's Hope. It's also just about completely impossible to find them in HGEs, unless something has changed.

I hate to say it, but the fastest way is to farm some other G5 mat from HGEs (Imp shielding, for example) and trading 6/1.

Try this

Edit:
alternatively: go in imperial space, let's say Cubeo, and pick whatever hge you might find.
Most common will be Imperial shielding and Proto Heat Radiators. Trade them for what you need.

HGEs are everywhere these days. Just jump through systems hitting the nav beacon to resolve all signals fast and you will be swimming in Imperial Shielding, Core Dynamic Composites, Proto Heat Radiators and Proto Radiolic Alloys.

If you want to do it with missions, Biotech Conductors and Exquisite Focus Crystals are Grade 5 manufactured materials that can be 6:1 traded for Pharmaceutical Isolators.

That works, but the problem is that doing it through missions takes much longer, and you really might want to use those biotech conductors and exquisite focus crystals for other things. The nice thing about farming imperial shielding for this is that they are both easy to get and only used for mods that you probably don't want.

My source of choice for them is just bounty hunting and scooping everything that drops. Lower ranked mats from that group are very frequent and you can trade it up for 8 or 16 of them you actually need for your drives.

Every time I kill one of the big three outside of a conflict zone, I check my contacts panel to see if it dropped any. Over time, I blow up more ships than I buy. Outbreak systems have been unreliable for spawning the right HGEs since the FSS update.

The best way I know of, since FDev seems to have reduced the frequency of finding PI to almost zero is to collect other G5 manufactured materials, bite the bullet and trade them for PI at horrendous exchange rates at a Manufactured Materials Trader. o7

From a post by @Northpin last year:
Core Dynamics should appear in a HGE generated by a FED aligned faction with NO State
Similarly, Imperial Shielding appear in a HGE generated by an Imp aligned faction with NO State
Proto Radiolic Alloys and Proto Heat Radiators appear in Boom/Investment HGE
Military SuperCapacitors and Military Grade Alloys appear from War / Civil War State
Improvised Components in Civil Unrest
Pharmaceutical Isolators in Outbreak

But, all this above is valid for ONLY for Independent and Imperial Factions (Alliance too, i think)

Having followed the advice I can say it appears accurate.
My favourite source is Deadly/Elite NPC's in Haz Res or mission interdictions who fly Anacondas...

Edit: missed a bit of the post by Northpin:

Based on my experience past September Update, Federal alignment will overwrite the state and you will only get CoreDynamics, even tho the faction is in Outbreak or Civil Unrest

So, until next bug fixing patch, i recommend to hunt HGE in imperial space. I managed to top up basically everything by roaming systems in Imperials space
Even if you dont find the needed HGE's, you can still easily top up on imperial shielding and trade for what you need.

Mission rewards and salvage from target ships.

Find a system with only one system within 10LY and an anarchy faction present. All "assasinate known pirate" missions will target that system, and can be stacked up. Rewards regularly include pharmaceutical isolators, and if your target is a conda/cutter/corvette, they usually drop a grade 5 mat which can include pharma isos

Well, that's my Manufactured all full, thanks to the Imperial fops, Encoded full thanks to the 'Bug Killer' site.
Quick trip out to the Crystalline Shard sites for the Raws and I'm done. :D

Almost exactly the way I do it.
Man mats. Imperial shielding.
Encoded mats. Jameson's crashed cobra.
Raw mats. Crystalline shards.
Spend a week. Fill up, come back and trade across and down. Rinse and repeat.
You'll have 90% to 100% of everything. G1 to G4 or G5.
Until you have to do it again. :)

I got quite some luck in the Pirate Activity Zones. In Lusonda there are currently two threat 6, and the Anacondas drop them quite often. Warning, these Zones are harder than a Haz RES. Only bring cargo with you if you like some action :D
