Hey everyone,
I've been playing since around the end of December, but been quite busy so haven't put as many hours in as I would like :p
I'm currently in a well outfitted ASP, around 2800 LY out from Lave. My question is can I really stay out in the void for say 200-400 hours of game play time scanning and through patches etc. the data I collect will still remain and be stored when I return ready for me to turn in? Where is the scan data stored? Local or what?.

Also for instances (however unlikely to occur) but if two people have scanned a system I take it the first to return and submit the data will receive the system tag and bonus? Thanks guys n girls.

Yes to both questions. You could be out for months before returning and selling your data. The first to return gets their name on the system but you both get paid.
