Quick question regarding premium ammo...

What I mean by that is if I "buy" premium ammo for one of my ships, then dock, swap ships, log off, reboot, whatever. When I swap back to the ship, will I still have the premium ammo, or will it have reverted to basic ammo?

The ammo is stored on ship until you use it up.

No

if you restock / rebuy it disappears
if you remove hardpoints / swap / change ships it disappears

Equally if you have plasma slug + premium ammo if you fuel scoop or refuel it disappears

if you log off and back on, its persistent but that's about it.
